Rechargeable LED Headlamp 500 Lumen with 270° Wide Beam & Red Flashlight - Perfect for Night Running, Camping, Cycling, Fishing, and Emergency Work Light

When I was looking for a headlamp this one was the cheapest I could find. For that reason I was slightly skeptical that it would perform as advertised. My initial reaction when I opened the box was one of dissapointment because the main LED light strip in front was yellow instead of white like I thought it would be. Thankfully the strip, when illuminated, produces a very bright white light that far exceeded my expectations! Also, the light on the side that faces forward is also very bright and has performed better than expected.The motion sensor ON/OFF function was the feature that sold me when I was shopping around. It works great; a little too sensitive i'm afraid. When I took the headlamp up in the attic to work it would shut off every time my head got close to something which was a little annoying but I can live with it being too sensitive.Overall, NO BUYERS REMORSE HERE :)Works well allowing hands free maintenanceThis headlamp is amazing, especially for the price range. The first power button allows you to cycle through 5 modes: 1) side light 50%, 2) side light 100%, 3) front white led, 4) front red led, and 5) front red blinking. The second power button is where this thing really stands out. The "sensor mode" lets you cycle between all of the previous modes (except the flashing red led) and, while in this mode, a simple wave of your hand by your right ear, toggles the light on/off (stays in the current mode). This feature is FANTASTIC! Once I realized what the 2 different power cycle buttons did, it was amazingly intuitive.I run ultramarathons and this would be a fantastic addition to anyone's kit! I tend to run with a very bright waist-mounted light and then use a second headlamp for additional lighting as needed. This lightweight, waterproof, rechargeable light is PERFECT for that application. At this price range, I can put extra(s) in EVERY drop bag!The headband is extremely comfortable and this headlamp is also great for working around the house. Especially helpful on projects requiring you to shut off circuit breakers (and therefore lights) in your house! As a bonus, when you walk into a room with other people, you just wave your hand to turn off the light that is blinding them.I haven't yet tested the full duration of the battery, but as mentioned above, I use this headlamp on-demand, which is why the hand sensor is so key. You can really make it last a very long time this way! Great headlamp. Highly, highly recommend!The surprising thing about this headlamp was all the features I didn't think I would care about, but actually ended up really liking. I just wanted a light. I primarily have used this working on my car in the garage when I don't have a hand free to hold a flashlight.The motion detection is great when I have dirty hands, or wearing gloves covered in grease. It can be problematic if you're working in tight spaces and your head is passing by an object numerous times, but then you can just turn it on and off with the regular button.The light mounted on the side is great when I want to wear this over my ballcap, it doesn't get pointed up by being on top of a hat like my other light.I don't need to constantly reposition this like my other headlamp. The lightbar is perfect for when I just need to see what I'm doing and can't turn my head just so for what I need to see.In short, I really like this thing. It just works, and has had numerous pleasant surprises for me in it's versatility.First off, battery life. I can go an entire night of fishing with this (off and on for about 8 hrs), and the different levels of brightness as well as spread makes this wonderful to use. The additional red light is great for when the bugs are going. The motion detection works perfectly and helps keep hands free to work when needed. For the price of this I have bought 5 more. Charge time is relatively quick and is USB C. One of my better purchases on Amazon.
